First I would start with C&M's customer response. With 29 years of industrial sales experience I would have to say C&M demonstrates a level of customer support that is nearly extinct in this day and age. I could not speak more highly of the service I received.
Let me preface my review with the fact that I am an automotive hobbyist, not a commercial entity and my comparative analogies will not be apples to apples but I do have a firm opinion. I do small lot, irregular tumbling polishing and my previous experience is with the offerings of Harbor Freight and Eastwood. Being a car guy I would make an analogy that the aforementioned are the Trabant's of the world and the C&M is the Porsche 917. This is one of those lessons in life where you realize the amount of time you could have saved had you sprung for the Porsche years ago would have paid off in spades. The amount of time I spent fussing with those pieces of junk trying to prevent their eventual self destruction(and the drive time to HF for replacements) could have been spent on other productive pursuits.
Again, I understand an apples and kumquats comparison, but the HF units do not even do a good job despite the required babysitting. The results I am getting with the C& M unit are picture worthy.
Now that I have the experience of the C&M machine, were that to be taken away I would not even bother with the other. I would go back to the soak and wire brush options.
I also purchased C & M cutting media. I did not want to, as I thought 50lbs was more than I needed for my requirements. However I can now say that all my future media purchases will be from C&M. I believe the cutting action and product consistency is far superior. Comparatively the last stuff I got from HF was scrap out of the container(flakes and misshapen junk).

The ceramic amount of the starter pack just fills only half the bowl of the TLV-50. Aditionally the media is a mixture of different kind of Angle Cut Triangle Ceramic. Not usable for testing.
